Regional Investment Officer:
Location: Lima, Peru
Status: Full Time Project Based (Dec 2011, Dec 2012)
Expected Start date: December 1st, 2011
Job Summary: the Regional Investment Officer manages Etimos portfolio in South America region: Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. Under the supervision of Etimos Chief Investment Officer manages customer relationships, develops new contacts, manages relationships with counterparts.
The Regional Investment Officer produces Microfinance Institutions and Producers Organizations due diligence reports for loan disbursements. He/she’s in charge of monitoring and follow-up of funds disbursed with focus on audit/monitoring of MFIs/POs performances.
The Regional Investment Officer is also in charge of projects planning and implementation.
Availability and Location: the Regional Investment Officer work is full time. The position would require extensive travel within the region of assignment with up to 60% of the time in the field in the countries of operations and occasional travel to Italy as needed.
Reporting and Relationships: the Regional Investment Officer will report to the Chief Investment Officer-Deputy Director.

Reporting and Relationships: the Regional Investment Officer will report to the Chief Investment Officer-Deputy Director.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead role in negotiating loan/investment terms with support of CIO;
- Conduct Due Diligence on candidate MFIs or POs (in English) including preparing/reviewing due diligence reports, financial modelling, and financial analysis with the support of CIO;
- Manage the portfolio under the CIO coordination, monitor the funds disbursed and the activities implementation, monitor the on-going financial performance, operational performance, social performances and risk profile of portfolio companies;
- Conduct regular field visits to MFIs and beneficiaries and POs;
- Produce periodic narrative and financial reports (in English);
- Conduct meetings and build relationships with local and international organisations (microfinance institutions, producers organisations, government institutions, international organisations, banks);
- Conduct market studies as assigned by the Chief Investment Officer on new potential clients or countries in South America;
- Lead marketing efforts, build pipeline, study and design new projects for Etimos Fund and Etimos S.c. and other products and services, as needed;
- Represent Etimos at relevant regional and international conferences.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Economics and Finance or Law.
- At least 5 years experience in managing related fields of Microfinance and/or Fair Trade.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Superior quantitative skills and written analysis skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, spoken and written.
- Strong writing and communication skills: ability to effectively communicate, through speaking and writing, to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in team.
- High professional and ethical standards.
- Strong organisational skills.
